PERSONAL BLOG
This is my personal blog the place where I want to share the things that I'm not vlogging about. I'm also planing to use it when I travel to write blog posts along with the vlogs. I feel like when you have a blog and a vlogging channel combined together things become more personal. Even tho my vlogging channel is in Bulgarian this blog is in English because I would like to start a YouTube channel in English at some point.
GOAL
In my situation I wanted to create a website to use as my personal blog. There I would blog about anything that comes to my mind that will usually not be in my vlogs on YouTube. A place mostly for international people that stumbled upon my channel but did not understand Bulgarian.
Some helpful questions I asked myself before I started:
Q: What is my main goal?
A: To create a website to use as my personal blog.
Q: What should the content be?
A: It should include a blog page, about me page, a page where I can put my recent videos and a page for my social networks.
Q: Who is going to visit my website?
A: This website is aiming to get the international people who stumbled upon my channel.
SITE MAP
Considering the only use of the website would be blogging this website is one of the simplest websites that I've created, since it does not need more than one level for each menu item.
WIREFRAME
Wire-framing is probably my favorite part after all the previous steps. Wire-framing is really enjoyable for me because that is the place where you get to create a visual representation of what it is in your head.
Most of the time I focus on basic shapes when designing the wireframe and add details later in the process but sometimes I need to draw on the wireframe too so I remember what visual details I want on my site.
COLOR SELECTION
I wanted the website to be plant based and somehow give a spring or a summer vibe. Since the name of my blog is "Picnic Under The Stars" I thought of how the most appropriate time to go picnic is either through spring or maybe right before the summer sunset.

DESIGN
For the design of the whole blogging website I wanted something simple but eye catching at the same time. My final decision was to put some plants in the header that will catch the eye but yet still look pretty sleek. Decided to keep things really minimalistic through the whole website since it's just a blog.
OPTIMIZATION
After designing the website for computer screens I have to make sure it runs on smartphones and tablets as well. This is probably the most important step for my blog since 67.8% of all my views come from mobile phones. The Wix platform is what I use for publishing my websites but it does not preform so good on different devices so I try to do my best and optimize it as much as I can so it looks decent on most devices.
FINALIZATION
When I was done with creating everything on the Wix platform I went through the website once more and looked for things that I might not like. When I made sure that I like it I added my social media links, wrote the fist welcoming blog post, created the domain, named all the pages and published the website.
